ATTIRE

Hair pieces and accessories are provided the day of dress rehearsal and recital, and you may keep them afterwards.

Tights reminder
Please wear NEW tights for the recital. Your dancer may use other tights you have for the dress rehearsal. It is HIGHLY recommended to have an extra pair of tights on recital day in case the ones your dancer is wearing are dirtied or torn. If you you'd like to purchase more, CLICK HERE.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
MAKEUP
Makeup is optional but highly recommended. Stage makeup plays an important role in helping dancers look their best under bright stage lights. It’s not about making our young dancers look older or like adults—it’s simply an extension of the costume, ensuring that their facial expressions can be clearly seen from the audience.
The lighting on stage can wash out natural features, so a little makeup helps highlight eyes, cheeks, and lips so the dancers’ expressions and artistry shine through. It’s not necessary to apply a full face of makeup with foundation, contouring, eyeliner, or highlighting. Here is what we suggest:
-
Some blue eye shadow
-
Pink blush
-
Red or pink lipstick
While wearing stage makeup is optional, it is highly recommended to help each dancer feel fully prepared and to create a polished, cohesive look for the performance.
HAIR
-
Hair must be pulled back in a neat ballet bun.
-
Ensure there are no flyaways.
JEWELRY, NAIL POLISH, GLITTER
-
No jewelry is allowed except for small earrings.
-
No nail polish is allowed.
-
No glitter is allowed, as per instructions from Goodlet Theatre. In addition, we don’t recommend it because glitter on the skin can look like sweat from far away with the stage lights.
